Verisk announced new integrations on October 28 that give eligible customers access to ISO Loss Costs and Premium Audit Advisory Service content inside Amazon Quick and Microsoft Copilot, according to a release distributed through GlobeNewswire. Inside Anthropic's Claude it added two items: PAAS resources within Verisk Underwriting Intelligence and a Verisk Benchmark connector carrying property-level hail and wind history.
According to the release, the integrations "build on the launch of Verisk Underwriting Intelligence in Claude earlier this year." That launch, on May 5, put two Model Context Protocol connectors in Claude, one carrying ISO Indications for underwriters and actuaries and one carrying XactRestore for restoration estimators.
Wednesday's release gives no availability date, no pricing and no list of which customers are eligible.
Key Takeaways
- Two new platforms, Amazon Quick and Microsoft Copilot, get ISO Loss Costs and PAAS content for eligible customers, according to the October 28 release.
- Inside Claude, Verisk Underwriting Intelligence now includes PAAS resources alongside ISO Loss Costs, and a new Benchmark connector covers property-level hail and wind history.
- Benchmark, the hail and wind history connector, is the only wholly new item; it needs an active subscription and works with any Claude plan, Hoodline reported on October 28 from Verisk's product page.
- The NAIC's July 8 draft keeps a filing lever: a third-party model or dataset must be filed with the regulator on request, and a vendor's refusal may bar insurers from using it.
- The NAIC's July 8 draft framework made vendor registration voluntary after 23 comment letters; its drafting group aims to present revisions at the Fall National Meeting.
What goes to which platform
Three items are listed. Amazon Quick gets an "integration with access to ISO Loss Costs and Premium Audit Advisory Service (PAAS) content for eligible customers." Microsoft Copilot gets the same two content sets, in the same words. Claude gets an "expansion of Verisk Underwriting Intelligence within Claude to include PAAS resources alongside ISO Loss Costs, as well as a new Verisk Benchmark connector providing controlled, permissioned access to property-level hail and wind history."
| Platform | Verisk content as of May 5, 2026 | Verisk content as of October 28, 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Claude by Anthropic | Verisk Underwriting Intelligence (ISO Indications); XactRestore | Underwriting Intelligence with PAAS resources alongside ISO Loss Costs; new Benchmark connector (hail and wind history) |
| Amazon Quick | None announced | ISO Loss Costs and PAAS content, eligible customers |
| Microsoft Copilot | None announced | ISO Loss Costs and PAAS content, eligible customers |

Wording has shifted since May. That release described the underwriting connector as "Verisk Underwriting Intelligence (ISO Indications)" and said insurers could "access loss cost trends, experience insights, and filing signals from Insurance Services Office." In October the same offering's content is called ISO Loss Costs, and the premium audit resources are new to all three platforms.
Benchmark is the one item that is wholly new rather than a port. It is Verisk's property-level weather history product, and the release describes the connector's access as "controlled, permissioned." Hoodline, citing Verisk's product page for the connector, reported on October 28 that it requires an active Benchmark subscription and works with any Claude plan. The May connectors used MCP, the open protocol Anthropic published in November 2024; the release does not say what the Amazon Quick and Copilot integrations run on.
What Verisk says the integrations do
Saurabh Khemka, president of Verisk Underwriting Solutions, said: "In an increasingly complex risk environment, underwriting and claims performance increasingly depends on precision, trusted intelligence and the responsible application of AI." He added that "AI is most valuable when it helps insurance professionals get relevant, reliable information when they need it."
Steven Kauderer, president of Verisk Claims Solutions, said AI "is changing how insurance professionals work, and how they interact with and draw value from the information they rely on," and that Verisk's focus is "making the insurance knowledge they need more immediate and useful so they can better serve policyholders."
In May, Lee Shavel, Verisk's president and chief executive, said that "data must be authoritative, decisions must be explainable, and accountability remains with people," and Mike Ram, Anthropic's head of insurance, said the pairing showed "how generative AI can enhance professional decision-making without compromising the rigor and accountability the industry demands." That release also said Verisk had deployed approximately 40 agentic and generative AI solutions and estimated the ISO workflow could save hundreds of hours per carrier per year.
On controls, the October release carries one line: "Existing content entitlements, permissions and governance controls continue to apply, enabling insurers to access information more efficiently while maintaining appropriate oversight." It describes the approach as "platform-agnostic" and says the integrations "securely bring relevant information into the workflows where insurers make critical decisions."
The filing question now spans three platforms
When the Claude connectors launched, this site reported that no property and casualty rate filing documentation standard governed LLM-mediated access to ISO content, and that a conversational query introduces two inputs no filing memorandum format has a field for: the prompt text and the model version that shaped the response. That July 6 piece also noted that the ISO edition being queried may not surface in a response unless the actuary asks for it. Those observations were made about one platform. As of Wednesday, the same ISO content is reachable through three.
At the NAIC, the Third-Party Data and Models (H) Working Group's draft has moved since May. It exposed a framework on December 9, 2025 and drew 23 comment letters, according to the Spring National Meeting materials. Its July 8 revision dropped mandatory registration in favour of a voluntary NAIC-hosted multistate registry and narrowed the first phase to P&C pricing and underwriting. It kept a filing lever. Where a third-party model or dataset is used, it "must be filed in either the insurer's own filing or as a separate filing submitted directly to the regulator, as requested by the regulator," and a vendor's refusal to provide information "may result in the regulator prohibiting insurers from using the data and/or model."
Verisk's own position is on the record in that file. Its Insurance Services Office asked the working group to narrow scope to underwriting and rating and to centralize registration in a single multistate process, both of which the July draft delivered. AHIP and Microsoft asked that general-purpose AI model providers be excluded; the July draft tied its definitions to pricing and underwriting use rather than to the type of tool. Licensees, a category that covers a licensed advisory organization such as ISO, are excluded from the framework's vendor definition.
Alston & Bird's September 21 summary of the Summer National Meeting said stakeholders questioned whether the registry is truly voluntary and that a smaller drafting group will consider revisions, with the goal of presenting the framework at the Fall National Meeting. The July reporting found no filing instruction that asks for the prompt or the model version, and no actuarial standard has been requested of the CAS, the Academy or the SOA on the point.
Verisk reports fiscal third-quarter results on Thursday, November 5, before the market open, with a management webcast at 8:30 a.m. ET, according to its October 1 notice.
