About actuary.info
The daily intelligence source for actuarial professionals
What We Do
actuary.info delivers curated actuarial and insurance industry news for working professionals. Every day, we scan over 50 industry publications, regulatory bodies, and professional organizations to surface the stories that matter most to actuaries across every practice area: property and casualty, health, life and annuities, reinsurance, retirement, and quantitative finance.
Our Insights section provides original, long-form analysis of significant industry developments, from regulatory shifts and market trends to the impact of AI on actuarial workflows. These articles synthesize multiple sources and add the context that busy professionals need but rarely have time to compile themselves.
We also maintain comprehensive career resources, including the most complete guide to becoming an actuary available online, covering SOA and CAS exam pathways, salary data, and the skills employers are looking for in 2026.
Who We Are
actuary.info is an independent publication operated by Coastal Dune Labs LLC. It was founded by Sam, an actuary who saw a gap in the market: actuarial professionals had no single, modern destination for daily industry intelligence. The SOA and CAS publish infrequent newsletters. Trade publications cover individual verticals. Nobody was aggregating and analyzing the full picture in one place.
Our editorial process combines automated article discovery and relevance scoring with human review and original analysis. AI tools assist with source monitoring and initial categorization; all editorial judgment, article selection, and Insights content reflect our own analysis and perspective. You can read the full details on our How We Curate page.
Our Standards
We link to primary sources (regulatory filings, official announcements, peer-reviewed research) wherever possible. We do not republish full articles. We do not accept payment for editorial placement. If we make an error, we correct it promptly. Transparency about how we operate is not optional; it is foundational to earning trust in a profession built on precision.
Support Our Work
actuary.info is free to read and will remain so. We sustain the site through advertising that is clearly labeled and never influences our editorial decisions. If you find value in what we publish, the best way to support us is to subscribe to the Actuary Daily Brew newsletter and share articles with colleagues.
