Guidewire launched what it calls a platform approach to agentic insurance at its Connections 2026 conference in Las Vegas on October 27, and the release says PricingCenter can move "sophisticated pricing models to live rates in days by validating rules, factors, and adjustments," a feature it still labels Early Access or roadmap a year after launch.
The same morning Guidewire said it had agreed to buy hyperexponential, the London pricing and underwriting vendor whose platform it says has powered underwriting decisions on more than $75 billion of annual commercial P&C premium, for $1.7 billion in cash plus up to $400 million contingent on recurring revenue targets.
The announcements come a year after Guidewire introduced PricingCenter at Connections 2025 on October 28, 2025, and 12 weeks after the Qusar release put the Agentic Framework on Guidewire Cloud Platform on August 3. More than 3,000 insurers and partners from 36 countries are at this year's conference, the company said.
Key Takeaways
- PricingCenter can move pricing models to live rates in days, Guidewire's October 27 release says, but a year after launch it is still Early Access with no general availability date.
- Guidewire agreed to pay $1.7 billion in cash for hyperexponential, plus up to $400 million tied to recurring revenue targets, with closing expected in its fiscal second quarter.
- hyperexponential's platform has powered underwriting decisions on more than $75 billion of annual commercial P&C premium for insurers including Aviva, Beazley, Markel and Cincinnati Financial, Guidewire said.
- Guidewire expects the deal to add at least 650 basis points to fiscal 2027 ARR growth and at least 150 basis points a year to organic growth from fiscal 2028.
- The Agentic Framework shipped on August 3 and runs on the same platform as the core, so insurers can put agents to work on live claims and policies, Guidewire said.
The PricingCenter line, a year on
The October 2025 launch release described PricingCenter as "adjusting rates in real time, analyzing impact before release," and quoted Waseem Vally, chief technology and information officer at Bryte Insurance, saying "what used to take us months can now be delivered in weeks."
The October 27 release moves the claim from weeks to days and attaches a condition. Actuaries "can move sophisticated pricing models to live rates in days by validating rules, factors, and adjustments while maintaining the established efficiency of promotion to production," it says, adding that this "keeps portfolio impact visible" and that native integration with PolicyCenter "connects pricing decisions directly to policy workflows." Guidewire marks it with the label it uses for features "available for Early Access customers only or Guidewire Roadmap Features."
Guidewire gave no general availability date for PricingCenter and did not say which part of the sequence, the validation step, the promotion path or the PolicyCenter integration, is the Early Access piece.
For a U.S. admitted carrier, the days from a validated rate to a live one also depend on the rate pages on file in each state.
Two neighboring items, both also Early Access or roadmap, use the same day-count language: Advanced Product Designer moves products "from intent to market-ready in days," and Kaleidoscope tunes predictive models to an insurer's own book with federated learning so that "records don't move."
What the Agentic Framework now governs
The Agentic Framework is already shipping. Guidewire released it on August 3 in Qusar, and the new release describes it as letting insurers "use Guidewire-developed agents or build their own, select the model for each task, enforce guardrails, evaluate behavior, and monitor costs."
"We took a platform approach to AI, so agents run on the same platform as the core, with access to an insurer's context, data, and workflows," said Diego Devalle, Guidewire's chief product development officer. "The scalability and observability that already support the core now support agents too. That is why insurers can put them to work on live claims and policies."
Mike Rosenbaum, chief executive officer, said: "Insurance is a business of decisions and actions made in context." The release says agents "need to know what is true, what has already been done, and what they are allowed to do," and that the platform's controls enforce those boundaries with "a clear audit trail."
ProNavigator, the assistant Guidewire embedded in InsuranceSuite in the Palisades release, now gives underwriters "embedded AI and Guidewire-developed agents" for submission summaries, risk insights and next-best actions. The agents, though not the assistant, are Early Access or roadmap, as is UnderwritingCenter, which lets underwriters quote directly and pushes the quote into PolicyCenter.
Karlyn Carnahan, executive partner at Celent, said in the release that insurers "are moving beyond AI experimentation" and that "the next challenge is making these capabilities work within the systems and workflows that run the business."

The hyperexponential deal
hyperexponential sells pricing and underwriting software to commercial and specialty insurers, with what Guidewire's release calls "a particularly strong presence" among UK commercial and specialty carriers, and it was already a Guidewire PartnerConnect Technology Alliance Partner.
Guidewire will pay $1.7 billion in cash, subject to adjustments, and up to $400 million more if hyperexponential hits specified recurring revenue targets. The company will fund the deal with $1.0 billion of new term loans, for which Bank of America and Citibank have given a binding commitment, plus cash on hand. Closing is expected in the second quarter of Guidewire's fiscal 2027.
The release describes the target as "the agentic platform for commercial P&C insurance underwriting," covering submission triage, risk assessment, pricing, rating and portfolio steering, and names Aviva, Allianz, Sompo, Beazley, Markel, HDI, Cincinnati Financial, Convex and Bowhead as customers. It puts the premium underwritten through the platform at more than $75 billion a year.
"We founded hyperexponential on the conviction that underwriting judgment is the highest-leverage work insurers do," said Amrit Santhirasenan, its chief executive and co-founder. "With hx and Guidewire, insurers will be able to respond to submissions faster and, more importantly, improve loss ratios and allocate capital more effectively."
The acquisition release frames the combination as agentic underwriting, "in which AI agents work alongside underwriters and actuaries to assess risk, price it, and make decisions."
Neither release says how hyperexponential's pricing tooling will sit beside PricingCenter, which Guidewire launched six months after buying the pricing vendor Quantee in April 2025, or whether the two will be sold to the same actuarial teams.
Guidewire expects at least 650 basis points of inorganic ARR growth in fiscal 2027 from the deal, then at least 150 basis points of durable organic ARR growth from fiscal 2028, with margins consistent with its long-term targets. It said the transaction has no effect on the first-quarter guidance it issued on September 3.
Guidewire will give second-quarter guidance and an updated fiscal 2027 outlook on its December earnings call, the first after this week's Connections demonstrations and before the deal is due to close.
